A great room at dusk with layered lighting and a wall of glass

For builders, architects and designers

Clean walls start before rough-in.

We plan the keypads with you, work with your electrician on the panels, and program every scene before the client moves in.

Who does what

A clear line between us and your electrician

  • Panels and processors. We supply and install them.
  • Line voltage. Your electrician runs the wiring to the control panels.
  • Keypads, dimmers and switches. We supply them, and your electrician installs the line-voltage devices.
  • Low-voltage keypad wire. We run it.
  • Programming. We set the scenes and engrave the buttons for how the client lives, not for how the electrician wired the house.

When to bring us in

Three points in the project

01

Design

We pick the approach for the home, lay out the keypads with you and settle the finish with the designer.

02

Before rough-in

We settle where the panels go and run every lighting circuit back to them on the plan. This is the step that cannot wait.

03

Trim

Keypads go on the wall and we program the scenes. The client gets a walkthrough before move-in.

Questions

Builder and designer questions

All questions and answers

How does AudioWorks work with builders, architects and designers?

We plan the approach and the keypads with you, coordinate the panels with your electrician, and program the system before move-in. The designer picks the finish, and we make sure it is a finish the keypad comes in.

What does the electrician do on a lighting control job?

Your electrician runs the line-voltage wiring to the control panels and installs the line-voltage keypads, dimmers and switches we supply. We supply and install the panels and processors, run the low-voltage keypad wire and program the system.

When should a builder bring AudioWorks into a project?

Before the electrical rough-in, and earlier if you can. The panels need a home, and the plan has to run every lighting circuit back to them. After drywall, we can still help with a hybrid system.

Can a designer choose the keypad finish?

Yes. Lutron Alisse and GE Proseo Ascend come in brushed and hand-finished metals as well as matte, so a keypad can match the door hardware or disappear into the wall. Send us the finish schedule and we match it.

Send us the project, then pick a style

We come back with panel and wiring notes for your electrician, then a quote.

1. The project
2. The keypad style you like

Optional. Pick the one that catches your eye. Nothing is final until we talk it through.

We use this to call you back. Nothing else.
